This may very well be true,  but I don't see why you are so sure MC
doesn't already make the compensation for that.     If it's because you
can't keep exact count of the score, I can understand, we probably don't
always consider the 1 point very important and overlook it.

MC won't overlook it.   It will probably go for the 10 point because
that is more likely to be important.   But if it goes for the 1 pt
instead, it's because it needs 1 pt to win, and the 10 points is harder
to deal with.
