Thanks to all those who voted for various aspects of how KGS Bot
tournaments are run. I assume that everyone who meant to respond has
now done so, and I declare the poll closed. I received ten responses.
The result follow.

>(1.)
>Do we want to keep separate Formal and Open divisions?
> Keep two divisions [____]
> Just have one [____]

A small majority for keeping two divisions. I shall keep two divisions.

>(2.)
>Do we want to keep three board sizes? Or to get rid of 13x13?

A small majority for keeping 13x13. David Doshay suggested increasing
the proportion of 19x19, which I shall do. I shall keep 13x13, but
shall alternate 19x19 events with events which combine 13x13 and 9x9.

>(3.)
>Do we want to continue with three different time settings for each
>board size?

A small majority for only having two time settings. I will switch to
having only two time settings for each size of board.

>(4.)
>Do we want the time settings to be
> as they are now [____]
> faster [____]
> slower [____]

A majority for as now, a significant minority for faster, and no-one for
slower. I shall retain the fastest previous time setting, and replace
the two slower ones by a setting intermediate between them.

>(5.)
>Should we
> continue to use Absolute (sudden death) time [____]
> change to using Canadian [____]
> change to using byo-yomi [____]

A majority for Absolute, a minority for byo-yomi, and no-one for
Canadian. I shall continue to use Canadian. If I could arrange for a
small time increment on each move played I would do so, but KGS does not
support this.

>(6.)
>Do we want the events to
> take longer [____]
> be about as long as they are now [____]
> be over sooner [____]

A majority for as is.

>(7.)
>Do we want to
> stay with fixed-length Swiss [____]
> switch to Round Robin [____]

The same number of votes for Swiss and for Round Robin. I shall
continue to use Swiss. I prefer Swiss as it allows me to know when the
event will end.

So, I am making the following changes, with immediate effect:

19x19 time limits were 58m, 28m, 18m will be 43m, 18m
13x13 time limits were 43m, 18m, 13m will be 28m, 13m
9x9 time limits were 28m, 13m, 8m will be 18m, 8m

Cycle of events
       was 19x19 & 19x19, 9x9 & 13x13, 13x13 & 9x9
   will be 19x19 & 19x19, 9x9 & 13x13, 19x19 & 19x19, 13x13 & 9x9

I have not yet updated the page
http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/future.html, I shall do so today. I shall
also create this Sunday's tournaments and open them for registration
today.
