Don probably had his tongue in cheek when he typed that, but according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisei , games in the Kisei Tournament in Japan are
played over two days, with each player given eight hours of clock time. Title matches
in the Mejiin also use 8 hours clock time.
No doubt, when games are adjourned for the day, both players ( and perhaps their
assistants ) spend a considerable amount of time thinking off the clock.
