[computer-go] How to prevent Copyright violations?

I'm sorry to hear that Chess-programmers have such a hard time making decent money from their efforts. I think Go programmers have had a much easier time. My software has pirate copies circulating in China, but still I made a decent amount from it. Well above the average salary of a computer-programmer in other fields.

Go-Progamm users are more honest than their chess-counterparts? If this is the case I should invest more effort in Suzie and change fields.

I was once at the European youth championship with my programm Nimzo. Someone asked me if I am interested in buying a rather strong chess-programm for a few $. It was Nimzo. The guy had even no bad feeling when I told him, no thanks, I am the programmer. He just wanted to make a deal that a give him - for a few $ - always the latest version. But this situation was relative harmless, because it was burned on a CD and the distribution was cumbersome. But with todays downloads the market has practically broken down. Fritz Reuls Loop is currently Number 2 on the rating lists. Fritz has sold so far 60 programms, makes about 2000 Euro for several years of developement.
