The statement that a human player can be 3 - 4 stones away from the perfect
game may be understood as following. The top human players established a system
to play Go. This system has an error about 3 - 4 stones from the perfect
play. Then some people may ask how can a human player is 3 - 4 stones away from
the perfect game if the Go game is much more 'difficult' than chess? Two
arguments may give some answer to the question. First, by 'difficult' it really
refers to the approach of alpha-beta search. Whether Go is much more difficult than
chess in the perspective of the total human intelligence is still an open
question. The second argument is that Go has a different structure from Chess and
is more suitable to a systematic approach.
