There is a chat system on KGS so that players, and observers, can chat 
to each other.  I often connect to KGS solely with the intention of 
chatting.

If you are using a Go server where most of the players speak a language 
that you don't know, it can be a good idea to use a set of macros (in 
your client software) to generate phrases that you often want to use, 
e.g. "Onegaishimasu", or "Thank you for the game".  That way you don't 
need to know how to spell these phrases, you just click one client 
button at the start of a game and another at the end.  CGOban2 does not 
provide such macros, but you can achieve the same effect in other ways.
