i saw this kind of behavior several times in
several games, and it honestly looks to me
like someone is making a (misguided) trade
for the sake of setting up a ko that could
give two large groups over.
for instance, by giving up D11 for N11, he
still leaves himself the possibility of taking
the E11 group later, by taking the (only slightly
smaller) O11 group hostage. what was strange
to me is that he didn't take either group, with
P6 ending up completely superfluous. the local
pain of F12 threatening to connect H12 somehow
overwhelmed him.
looks human, but hard to say. *two* huge ataris
weren't translated into captures. it did look
like by failing to capture the E11 group he really
was playing the ko for the sake of playing the
ko as opposed to trying to win the game.
